When can Wage & Hour conduct an inspection or investigation?

Wage & Hour may begin an investigation when an employee files a complaint or when the Department has reason to believe a violation may have occurred. Investigations may involve reviewing payroll records, interviewing workers, or inspecting workplace conditions. Employers must cooperate fully when contacted by the Department.
