What is the difference between minimum wage, overtime, and wage theft?
Minimum wage is the lowest hourly rate an employer may pay. Overtime is extra pay owed when a non-exempt worker works more than 40 hours in a week. Wage theft happens when an employer fails to pay required wages, including not paying minimum wage, not paying overtime, taking illegal deductions, or withholding earned wages.
