What happens if an employer refuses to provide proof of coverage?

If the employer does not respond or refuses to submit proof of insurance, the Department may presume the business is uninsured. The employer can then face civil penalties, additional investigations, and potential legal action. Continued failure to comply may result in further enforcement steps, including court involvement.
