What happens if a provider’s charges exceed the fee schedule?

If a provider bills more than the fee schedule allows, the carrier may legally reduce the charge to the allowed amount. Providers cannot bill the injured worker or employer for the difference. All charges must follow the HCPS fee schedule to be reimbursed.
