What constitutes retaliation and why must employers avoid it?

Retaliation happens when an employer punishes someone for reporting discrimination or participating in an investigation. Examples include cutting hours, firing them, changing schedules, or treating them differently. Retaliation is illegal even if the original complaint is not proven.

Law: Delaware Code Title 19 §711(2)(d).
