How does the state verify ongoing compliance?

The Department monitors employer compliance through renewal checks, carrier reports, audits, and follow-up investigations. Employers may be asked at any time to provide updated proof of insurance. If a policy is canceled, the employer must show new coverage within 14 days or face additional enforcement actions.
