How are disability benefits calculated?

Benefits are based on the worker’s average weekly wage, usually using the 26 weeks before the injury. Workers generally receive a percentage of their average weekly wage, subject to state maximums. Employers must give accurate wage information to the insurance carrier so benefits can be calculated correctly.
