What is workplace discrimination under Delaware law?

Workplace discrimination happens when an employer treats someone unfairly because of a protected characteristic. This can affect hiring, firing, pay, promotions, discipline, training, or other terms and conditions of employment.

Under Delaware law, discrimination is illegal when employment decisions are based on a protected class instead of a person’s qualifications or job performance.
