What is a tipped employee under Delaware law?
A tipped employee is a worker who regularly receives tips as part of their job, such as restaurant servers. Delaware allows employers to pay tipped employees a lower direct cash wage as long as tips bring total earnings up to at least the state minimum wage.
If your tips plus hourly wage do not equal at least the minimum wage for each hour worked, your employer must make up the difference.
