What happens after I file a discrimination complaint?

After you file a complaint, the Office of Anti-Discrimination (OAD) reviews your intake information and may draft a formal charge for you to sign. Once the charge is filed, your employer is notified and asked to respond.

OAD then gathers information from both sides. This may include documents, written statements, or interviews. The agency reviews the evidence to determine whether there is reasonable cause to believe discrimination occurred.
