Do I need a work permit if I am under 18?

Yes. In Delaware, most workers under age 18 must have a valid work permit before starting a job. The permit must be completed by the employer and signed by a parent or guardian.

The employer must keep the approved permit on file during the minor’s employment. Starting work without a required permit may violate Delaware's Child Labor Law.
